Google is deprecating Gmail Basic HTML View in early 2024
As of January 2024, Gmail will discontinue its Basic HTML view, which was popular for its low data requirement and usability in slow connections like in-flight Wi-Fi. Gmail now recommends users switch to its mobile version which offers features like a lightweight interface, data efficiency, offline functionality, adaptive layout, and priority inbox that are optimized for slow connections.
